"Education is the most powerful weapon which   you can use to change the world" ï»¿Nelson Mandela
Mirrors Classrooms Infants: 6 weeks to 18 months

In Mirrors & Mirrors 2, children are cuddled, rocked, sang to and bonded with each day. We work to ensure that our infant rooms are places where babies feel safe, secure and happy. Each child has a personal crib and a separate area for changing and feeding.

Through thoughtful conversation and simple games like peek-a-boo, our teachers begin the foundational work for later learning and help infants develop motor skills. Student-teacher ratio = 4:1 (Mirrors) & 5:1 (Mirrors 2)

Key Points:

  • Children "PLAY TO LEARN"

  • Motor Skill Development: grasping, clutching, movement

  • Sensory Development: touching, feeling, listening

  • Play and Rest

Why the name ‘Mirrors’?
As infants grow and develop they are learning about themselves & looking within; hence the name 'Mirrors'. Where are my toes? What kind of veggies do I like? Infancy is a time to understand and explore self.

"At I CAN they provide a nurturing environment of supportive guidance in which children can learn from their choices and develop to their fullest potential. The role of the family is of primary importance in influencing a child's development. They seek to protect and enhance this role through support and encouragement of family involvement in decision-making. I Can is a very wonderful school. Continue to grow [in] greatness!"

Windows Classrooms Toddlers: 18 months to 2 years

In Windows & Windows 2, we allow children to explore while providing opportunities to channel all of their energy into things that help toddlers learn and grow. I CAN teachers lead young toddlers through age-appropriate activities to improve coordination, and increase verbal and problem solving skills.

The Creative Curriculum is based on the idea that children are naturally curious and motivated to learn. Student-teacher ratio = 5:1 (Windows) & 8:1 (Windows 2)

Key Points:

  • Tap into creativity & allow children to explore.

  • Language Development: reading, speech development

  • Music and Movement: rhythm, singing, play

  • Shapes and Colors: recognizing and drawing shapes

  • Artistic Development: painting and drawing

Why the name 'Windows'?

Young toddlers are beginning to understand and really take notice of the world around them; hence ‘Windows’.  They are noticing the grass, playing with their friends and naming objects.

"Our two year-old is learning sight words and has been asking to trace letters and shapes at home! She talks constantly about playing outside with her class and the art projects. I Can Child Care & Learning is special; it is so much more than child care! Our girls are receiving an excellent education in a fun, safe environment. The teachers work with each child individually to ensure that they are being challenged to grown and meet milestones (and often exceed them)! We feel very fortunate to have such wonderful people in our lives."

Bricks Classrooms Early Foundations: 3 years

Children learn very quickly in the earliest years and in many ways. They are learning from everything that they do. In Bricks & Bricks 2, our teachers provide them with the encouragement and tools they need to inquire and discover the answers to their wonderings. Each child's creativity is nurtured, as this encourages risk-taking, exploration and understanding of the world around them.

The Creative Curriculum supports our efforts to help children discover and develop their own talents. Student-teacher ratio = 10:1

Key Points:

  • Your child is learning about the world around them

  • Motor Skills Development: hands on activities, assembles puzzles, finger paint

  • Language & Thinking Development: alphabet recognition, speaking in complete sentences, learn by doing

  • Sensory Development: textures, understanding the senses

  • Imaginative Development: arts & crafts, creative play

  • Social Development: making choices, sharing, asks for help

Why the name ‘Bricks’?
At this age toddlers are continuing to build strong foundational skills; we are truly laying the ‘Bricks’ for learning. Pre-reading and math skill are budding and blooming.

"Our son was accepted into the Kindergarten gifted program, scored in the 97th percentile on his NNAT test, and earned a perfect score on his math assessment."

Brandon Bedka

"I HIGHLY recommend, if you want your child somewhere that will ensure [your children] exceed the baseline requirements of Kindergarten, that you consider sending them to I CAN."

Ladders Classrooms Pre-school: 4 years to 5 years

In Ladders & Ladders 2, we encourage children to be inventors, problem solvers, discoverers and dreamers. They learn about the world around them as they take things apart, put them together and ask lots and lots of questions. We give them the guidance and the tools they need to explore and learn within a comfortable, secure environment.

The Creative Curriculum supports the notion that all children are capable and talented, and that they learn in their own ways. In our classrooms, we help them discover and develop their own talents.
 Student-teacher ratio = 10:1

Key Points:

  • Your child is learning about their independence

  • Motor Skills Development: hands on activities, movement
