Meet Our Staff
The I CAN Team makes the difference! Our team is made up of highly qualified teachers, an Administrator, and a Program Director who is well educated in childhood development and passionate about the success and happiness of each child. Each teacher is dedicated to the development of every child and their learning potential. Our Teacher to Student ratios allow teachers to focus on the individual learning styles and needs of each child. Our team is committed to forming strong relationships with you to ensure the best possible experience for your child. Our commitment to effective communication will support your child's success at I CAN.
Program Director, Owner
Ms. Tiffany taught elementary school for over ten years, and then was promoted to Assistant Principal. After holding her administrative position for several years, she decided to dedicate her time to sharing her knowledge about early childhood education. Unfortunately, too many Kindergarteners do not meet the benchmarks because they were not a part of a program that adequately prepared them. Our team is committed to ensuring children in our program are ready for the challenges presented when they transition from our center into their Kindergarten program. Ms. Tiffany is confident that, each day, her team helps decrease the number of children who are not prepared for Kindergarten.

She later stepped down from her AORN position to serve as the Vice President of Behavioral Health with RHS. Ms. Debbie spent her final two years with RHS creating and shaping the Diversity Program and RHS Leadership Program, before retiring from RHS to serve as the Administrator of I CAN. Mrs. Merlinda Speller
Hello, my name is Merlinda Speller and I’m honored to be your Administrative Assistant. I’ve been working in early childhood for over 14 years but have been caring for children since before my teenage years. For more than 10 years, I operated and managed my own in-home Childcare Development Center through the Department of the United States Navy. My most recent job was with the Hampton City Elementary School System, where I cared for up to 500 children.
My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years and we have three wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to again work with children, as doing so has always been my passion. I love helping children grow and learn! I look forward to working with the lead teachers and team as they build their early childhood development skills. Remember, no child is ever left behind at I CAN!
